Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO)

MEPCO is the largest electric supply company in Pakistan. It holds the license granted by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA). Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO)
Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) is an electric company which was founded in 1998. It generates electricity to fulfill the needs of Faisalabad, Khushab, Jhang, Mianwali, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, and Bhakkar. This company powerfully generates electricity from water (hydroelectricity) to supply to 4.01 million consumers of Pakistan’s territory.
Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO)
GEPCO energetically produces electricity to acquire the needs of power in the country. It covers the Gujranwala region areas, Punjab, Pakistan, i.e., Narowal, Sialkot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, and Gujranwala. Muhammad Amin Choudhry is the current chief executive officer of Gujranwala Electric Power Company.
Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO)
Excluding Karachi, Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) authorizes the responsibility of supplying electricity to all the districts of Sindh, Pakistan. WAPDA owns and operates this company. HESCO obtained its certificate for commencement of business in 1998 from NEPRA.
However, this company does not supply electricity to the Karachi area. K-Electric (KE) company produces and delivers electricity to the consumers of the Karachi area.
Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO)
Sukkur Electric Power Company also known as SEPCO, was invented in 1998. Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) established SEPCO because HESCO could not supply electricity to all the areas of Hyderabad. So, it delivers the electricity power to the regions of Sukkur, Dadu, and Larkana.
Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO)
IESCO is an electric power supply company which was invented in 1998. It forcefully generates, transmits, and supplies electricity throughout Pakistan’s federal territory and some other areas. The core function of the company is to distribute electricity to the capital of Pakistan. It also supplies power to the areas from Attock to Jhelum and from the River Indus to River Neelum in Kashmir.
Islamabad Electric Supply Company effectively covers the electricity need of 2.8 million consumers. IESCO, formally known as Area Electricity Board (AEB), acquired the rights and liabilities of WAPDA in 1998. The primary purpose of establishing this company was to carry on and extend the activities of supplying power to all the areas around Islamabad.
Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO)
The Area Electric Board (AEB) Lahore was invented in 1982. WAPDA owned this company. Then, to improve the power industry structure, the Government of Pakistan approved a strategic plan in 1994.
The purpose of those companies is to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity to the consumers of Lahore and its neighbouring areas. Lahore Area Electricity Board was reorganized under the name of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) in 1998. The responsibility of LESCO is to provide electricity to the civil districts of Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Okara.
Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO)
Quetta Electric Supply Company holds the responsibility of supplying electricity to Quetta and its nearby areas. QESCO is a huge power company that manages to supply enough electricity to cover the Quetta consumers’ needs. It provides electric facilities to the people of Balochistan province under the supervision of WAPDA.
Tribal Electric Supply Company (TESCO)
Tribal Electric Supply Company, also known as TESCO, supplies electric facilities to the people of FATA. It was invented in 2004. It is the only company providing power supply to the consumers of this area and its maintenance is carried out by SS&TL Division Peshawar of TESCO.
K-Electric (KE)
K-Electric is a privately owned electricity distribution company. It was known as Karachi Electric Supply Company. It manages to maintain all three key stages of producing energy i.e., generation, production, and distribution. This company is based in Karachi.
KE supplies electricity to Karachi, which is the largest city and known as an economic hub of Pakistan. According to an estimation, it provides an electric facility to approximately 22 million consumers of Karachi city. It covers almost all the areas that fall under its network, like industrial, commercial, agricultural, and residential areas.
